SUPPORT TO MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL DEAF COMMUNITY & CHESTER DEAF CENTRE

Joint Anniversary Celebration Chester Deaf Club 40 years/Choir 20 years, Interpreting Fees to support Deaf People at meetings, Final Lip Reading Course donation 3 , Donation to Deaf Youth Football Team, Car Park Tarmac Repairs, Donation – Youth Music, Donation – Sign Health, Transport donations for isolated Deaf People with additional difficulties, enabling them to get to the Deaf Club to socialize with members in their first and preferred language British Sign Language, Donation wages – one part time Youth Vibe worker (Deaf Youth Club). Equipment for Deaf & Hard of Hearing People, Communication Support Deaf Blind person, Educational toys and reading material for Deaf children and BSL students. Training courses for Deaf people, students, volunteers and families, help to families in need, loop system for local church, funding in support of deaf sports activities, holiday costs for deaf child/deaf-blind person, Christmas food hampers, After School Club fees for Deaf child, lip reading class 1-1 tuition for traumatically deafened person, funding in support of activities for Deaf children.

We have made donations to Deaf Active Youth Club for staff wages and Christmas party, £1,640. £1000 for a ‘Feasibility Study’ in connection with the planned alterations at Chester Deaf Centre. £800 towards the printing of a book called ‘That’s Better’ primarily being used as a ‘tool’ by Deafness Support Network ‘I’m Hear’ Project workers, who are working with families with Deaf child/ren. We have been asked to consider funding a Lip Reading Course to run 3 x 8 week sessions especially aimed at first time hearing aid users. The course covers, amongst other things looking after your hearing aid and other aids to hearing available, as well as lip reading and Caretaker wages.

DONATIONS FOR EQUIPMENT FOR CHESTER DEAF CENTRE

Core running costs Chester Deaf Centre, Deaf Centre improvements (toilets, furnishings, kitchen/bar equipment, audible visual fire alarm, central heating boiler, window blinds, pool table, bingo machine, lighting, Disco, cost of costume hire to enable Deaf community to put on their own pantomime, and disco, flowers in memory of deceased members, Xmas Decorations  etc etc etc.
